This was an excellent read. I thought Worthen made convincing points and thoroughly established her case. I would just caution against what she said toward the end here:

The problem that I had with the comparison model you put forth is that it is inherently dishonest.

I don’t think Jen is dishonest. Yes, technically, the model is described as dishonest, but honesty is not a feature of non-persons, like theoretical models. Jen is a sincere person, and a strong testament to that is that she will give the other side (which may rip into her) the unedited, last word in this format. Jen can be wrong, and I think Worthen explained why, but what is key is to parse errors from motives. Sometimes I try to throw garbage into the trashcan. Sometimes I miss. I can assure you that I always miss by accident.
